Energy Efficiency not achieving results
Despite a push for more sustainable lifestyles through green programmes such as those for energy efficiency a forthcoming special issue of the 'Building Research and Information' journal, researchers from the Carbon Reduction in Buildings (CaRB) Consortium present new evidence on how people use energy in buildings. It suggests that installing energy efficiency measures, such as double glazing, insulation and energy efficient boilers, seems to encourage householders to turn up the heat, leave the heating on for longer and heat more rooms.

E.On , the power and gas generating and distributing company, has announced that the next application deadline for its Sustainable Energy Fund is 2 April 2010. The E.ON Sustainable Energy Fund offers grants of up to £20,000 to community groups and not for profit organisations who wish to consider and implement sustainable energy projects in their buildings.
