braemarview.jpgA new guide from Greenspace scotland in collaboration with NHS Health Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage was launched on 8 February. Tthe Greenspace and Health Outcomes Framework will help greenspace, health and other practitioners to better plan and coordinate greenspace-related work to deliver health benefits. The guide is aimed to be a useful tool in assisting people to demonstrate the role of greenspace in improving both mental, physical and community health.

The Greenspace and Health Outcomes Framework presents a series of models (informed by available evidence on greenspace and health) which show how work to create, manage and promote greenspace can be coupled with health promotion programmes to meet national and regional priorities for health. These models highlight the potential for planners, greenspace managers, health practitioners and communities of working together to ensure that access to greenspace improves both physical and mental health and wellbeing and contributes to action to tackle health inequalities.
