East Renfrewshire Waste Recycling Technology Centre Organisation: East Renfrewshire Waste Recycling Technology Centre Town/City: Barrhead Postcode: G788 2QX Description: The Waste Recycling Technology Centre provides training for unemployed people within Community Recycling and IT. Waste is collected from numerous local businesses which is then segregated and recycled. It uses thermophilic processors and vermiculture to recycle organic waste to produce a compost for the purpose of research on plants. Trainees go through job search activities to help them move into full-time employment. The project forms part of the schools curriculum for the Education dept in which school children visit the project to achieve various parts of their learning.
