A new guide from Greenspace scotland
in collaboration with NHS Health Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage was launched on 8 February. Tthe Greenspace and Health Outcomes Framework will help greenspace, health and other practitioners to better plan and coordinate greenspace-related work to deliver health benefits.
The guide is aimed to be a useful tool in assisting people to
demonstrate the role of greenspace in improving both mental, physical
and community health. The Greenspace and Health Outcomes Framework
presents a series of models (informed by available evidence on
greenspace and health) which show how work to create, manage and
promote greenspace can be coupled with health promotion programmes to
meet national and regional priorities for health. These models highlight the potential for planners, greenspace managers, health practitioners and
communities of working together to ensure that access to greenspace
improves both physical and mental health and wellbeing and contributes
to action to tackle health inequalities.A copy of the framework is below:
