Looks like even the bods down in the corridors of power are finally looking to see what sustainable development and economics might be all about. The Government's Review of the Economics of Sustainable Development aims to improve decision making in policy and provide advice to Ministers on sustainability.
In late 2008, the Government Economic Service launched a review of the economics of sustainability, led by Defra’s Chief Economist Richard Price, on behalf of the GES. The project aimed to turn the UK’s sustainable development principles into a workable framework for the appraisal and evaluation of decisions in government, and to produce practical help and guidance to aid this goal.
Anyway the report below is the final report on the subject...as final a report as you can get anyway...til the next one.
