21 June 2010
With 2010 being the UN's international year of Biodiversity
, the emphasis is on how we can conserve our native plants and species.
Tree planting is an important area for this and there is a good deal of
focus on restoring some of our former landscapes to their natural
glory.
Ordinary people too are waking up to the fact that what we plant in our gardens can have a direct effect on the birds and insects that come into it. Which brings us to the final of our comedy sketches, highlighting that a tree is only good for the environment if it's planted in the right place, otherwise it can have a diverse effect on the surrounding wildlife.
