One Planet Food and Transition Scotland have teamed up to run a 'Summer School' in the three days preceding this year's Big Tent Festival in Falkland, Fife.
The learning programme
consists of courses in 'Leadership development
for a one planet food system', Practical skills for living without oil',
and a free children's programme for 6-16 year olds.The leadership development course costs £100 and will be about how the food system works in Scotland and globally, food sovereignty and its applicability to Scotland, strategies and action planning for movement building, farm walks and more.
The practical skills course also costs £100 and does not have a set curriculum as yet but is likely to include willow working, blacksmithing, beekeeping, permaculture gardening, textile skills and cob building.
The children's programme is free and consists of a series of workshops in forest skills, practical skills and drama. However it is only available for children whose parents or guardians are taking part in one of the other summer school courses.
Partial bursaries are available and combined course/3 day festival passes cost £150.
