Wrap Scotland
has announced the launch of INCREASE III (ReUse), a new £800,000 grants scheme. This programme is part of the Scottish Government's Zero Waste Strategy, aimed at not-for-profit community sector organisations to improve the re-use infrastructure and capability across Scotland.
The aim of INCREASE ReUse is to:
- help re-use projects recover household items for re-use from civic amenity sites (household waste and recycling centres) in partnership with local authorities
- seed-fund re-use projects in geographic areas where there is a significant gap in re-use service provision
- support re-use projects to develop additional material types.
The maximum grants that can be awarded to any individual project for any given year is £200,000 although the maximum amount, which can be awarded to any one project over the lifetime of this INCREASE Programme, is £300,000. Funds may be used for capital investments and revenue costs up to 31st March 2011.
