Scotland is set to join China in a renewables venture it was announced this week by the Scottish Givernement. The trip to China made by Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond was aimed at forging Chines and Scottish business in a key area of the renewable energy sector. A deal between an Aberdeen based firm Sea Energy Renewables and the Chinese state - owned energy company Nantong COSCO was formally signed by the First Minister during a formal meeting in Shanghai.on Tuesday .
The agreement between the two companies is to develop a detailed business plan together with a commercial framework to develop and market turbine jacket structures and access systems. It is believed that such a deal with China could pave the way for future Chinese investment in Scotland.
