Skills for the future-Funding Print E-mail
Monday, 18 January 2010
cashstock1.jpgThe Heritage Lottery Fund has announced that the new Skills for the Future programme is now open to applications. This is a new £5million grant programme that will deliver up to 1,000 paid training opportunities for people across the UK seeking a career in heritage. It will not only support traditional conservation training but also a wide variety of skills needed to engage people with heritage and utilise new media and technology.

The programme is open to applications from organisations and partnerships – for example of community and voluntary organisations, professional bodies and learning and training providers and will provide grants of between £100,000 and £1 million for projects which provide paid training placements to meet a skills gap in the heritage sector, and fully support trainees to learn practical skills.

The closing date for applications is the 19th March 2010.
