Between March and May 2008, around 1,500 schoolchildren will take to the water on Voyager, thanks to a local group who have brought life back to the canal.

This inspiring story of a local group building gradually and sustainable on their success has huge local support.

While the local council lays on community police officers to speak to the young passengers, More Than Boats itself provides the wildlife experts and entertaining and educational Stay Away From the Edge (SAFE) worksheets, and arranges transport (co-ordinated to minimise cost and carbon footprint) to and from the boat for each school.

For all this, the initiative charges the council just £100 per trip.
