Lismore is small. It has just 176 inhabitants dotted across the island's 10 mile length. But being small didn't stop this community from thinking big.
Since March 2007, in the centre of the island, a stunning, ecologically friendly building has also been the centre of attention for Lismore's residents and visitors.
The culmination of eight years hard work, the Gaelic Heritage Centre is the result of a community coming together to celebrate their history, protect it for future generations and create a hub that would bring a new focus to the island's activities.
