Pizza maker Uin Foods who supply the big four Asda, Morrisons, Tesco and Sainbury, have embarked on sustainable design strategy with brand consultants Locofoco. "We have conciously aimed for less packaging on our new value range" says Uin MD, Martin Bell.
"We want to anticipate supermarket's needs in this area, and help them meet their sustainable targets." Bell adds "Uin have asked Locofoco to abandon the traditional promotional brochure route in favour of 100% online promotion. Uin means 'oven' in old scots and and proudly claims to be an 'unashamedly Scottish' pizza maker. Bell explains, "we currently have a haggis pizza in development to meet a sudden surge in haggis eating south of the border. Its the capacity to anticipate the future that keeps us ahead in business, and sustainability is definitely part of everyone's future".
