Subsea7
One of the world's leading engineering and construction companies, Subsea 7 was a regional winner of the VIBES awards in 2004. Employing in excess of 3,900 people worldwide, Subsea 7 provides underwater services including complete EPIC (engineering, procurement, installation and construction) services, inspection repair and maintenance covering life of field, survey and positioning, pipeline installation, full project management and engineering together with robotic intervention services and are active in the North Sea, Brazil, West Africa, Gulf of Mexico and Asia Pacific.

The company's deep-rooted health, safety, quality and environmental culture is inherent in all it has achieved and is integral to the Company's core values. This is reflected within the Company’s Mission Statement, which is simply: SAFE, CLEAN, SMART, FAIR, ANYWHERE.

The Subsea 7 team holds both nature and the environment in high regard and actively promotes, protects and participates in the preservation of the area, which has resulted in the following environmental impacts:

Disposal of hazardous waste reduced by 55%

  • Planning of site vehicle movements has reduced diesel use by 37%
  • Disposal of non-hazardous waste to landfill decreased by 30%
  • Recycling of waste materials has risen by 27%

Willie Watt, Pipeline Construction Manager at Subsea 7 commented, “We were delighted that Subsea 7 has been recognised for its commitment to the environment at the VIBES awards. This award is all the more satisfying in the knowledge that the local Scottish Environment Protection Agency office encouraged us to apply as they had witnessed the vast improvements that have been made over recent years”.
