Measuring and reporting greenhouse emissions Print E-mail
Tuesday, 16 June 2009
chaffinch.jpgTwo Government departments, Defra and DECC, have opened a joint public consultation on draft guidance setting out how organisations should measure and report on their greenhouse gas emissions.

The guidance is a requirement of the Climate Change Act 2008, and sets out how organisations should calculate their carbon footprint.  The consultation is open until 7 August 2009, with the final guidance published on 1 October 2009.  There is a stick here, but also a bit of a carrot as the guidance will help busienesses to identify and address energy and resource inefficiencies, which should save money.

You can find the consultation documents on the Defra website.
